Like father like son...

As I was uploading pictures from our camera, I came across these few and they gave me a really good laugh. I don't remember exactly when or why they were taken, but obviously neither Daddy nor Graham were very interested in having their picture taken!!! I mean, what ever happened to saying "cheese?" And, I know that Grammy has a lot of Robert's expressions, but I just didn't realize the mad face was one of them!! Enjoy :)

He Just Might Be a Genius....

I have been hiding in the basement, working on a boat load of blog posts that I need to finish (and just plain hiding from the mayhem that is our house) when Robert calls me upstairs. He is holding a sleeping Graham and begins to tell me that Graham got out. Of what?! Well, I had put him (buckled in, of course) in the "travel" swing that is in the boys' playroom and closed the french door. He was sort of playing/whining and I figured he was about to go to sleep. I couldn't put him in his crib yet b/c Marshall was not quite asleep and has been sick, so I didn't want to bother him. But anyway, evidently Graham started to cry and all of the sudden Robert noticed that the door to the playroom was moving. He went back there and Grammy had gotten himself out of the swing and was pulling up on the door trying to get out!!! What in the world?! Maybe this kid's a genius!! (Of course he is, all the Carraway boys are!) So, Graham ultimately got what he wanted- to be held. I guess he figured he would out smart us and get himself out of the darn swing and find someone in the house to hold him!!!! BTW- as soon as he was held he fell right to sleep.

Sick Kids

Here we are, stuck at home!!! AAAHHHHH! I do not handle this well. Poor Marshy woke up crying last night at midnight with a 103 degree fever. His crying woke up his baby brother, so we ended up with 2 crying babies at midnight. I gave Marshall some Motrin and handed him off to Robert. He was crying for daddy, so daddy he got! I had to take Graham and try to get him back to sleep. No such luck! Grammy was up for an hour or so playing and pretending to nurse. But, eventually everyone was back asleep.

This morning Marshall's fever was a little lower, but still there so we couldn't go the the birthday party we were supposed to attend. My poor little boys missed out on some fun with friends and some cake and icecream! So, we are all inside today watching the rain. Marshall finally decided he would go up to his bed to sleep, instead of just sitting with his lovey crying on the kitchen floor. Poor little guy :( Graham is wide awake- go figure! Pretty much impossible to get them both to sleep at the same time! Patrick is a lucky little boy today and got to head off to school. Thank goodness. I think I would really loose my mind trying to entertain him stuck inside all day! But, on the brighter side, I did get the house cleaned and am working on laundry. Hopefull we'll all be healthy tomorrow so I can get out. I HATE staying inside the house all day! The walls begin to close in on me!

Spiderman

Saturday night I went to pick up Happy Meals for the big boys- one of their favorite little treats!! While they were eating their dinner I discretely took the little spiderman toys and inspected them to make sure they were "appropriate" and decided that I would throw away the little web that spiderman shot when you pressed the button on his back. BIG mistake!!!!! After dinner Patrick ran in the living room to show Daddy his little spiderman. He was so excited! However, he quickly ran back into the kitchen asking me for the "piece" to spiderman. I kind of played dumb, but it wasn't working. He just knew that there was supposed to be a "piece!" So, I dug it out of the trash (yes, I dug through the trash!) and gave him the little web piece. He instantly loaded it into spiderman and shot it out, all while saying, "I got you momma, I got you!" I went in the living room and said how crazy it was that Patrick just knew there was a piece missing. How did he know that?! Well, Robert looked at me a little funny and then told me that he had told Patrick about the web piece and that if he pressed the buttom on spiderman's back the web would shoot out. I then thanked Robert and explained to him that I had wanted to get rid of the web piece so that the boys would not be shooting it at eachother, and especially at their baby brother. Oh well. Leave it to Daddy to let them play with little toys that double as weapons!

7 Months!!!

Happy 7th Month Birthday, Graham!!!! Today, at 10:04am Grammy was officially 7 months old. It seems like just yesterday he was born. He is becoming such a "big boy" in his old age. About the first of March he started to crawl. At first, he crawled on "all three" and used his foot to push off. Now, he in on all fours and gets around very well. He has also started to pull up to a standing position on anything he finds! His big brothers and less than thrilled about his newfound mobility. Every time he goes after one of their toys, snacks or sippy cups they yell, "No, Grammy. Momma, come get Grammy!" It's pretty funny! However, I'm sure they will all adjust the pecking order to accomidate little Graham :) Graham is also very close to popping his first tooth! For a while now he's had just to bumps on the bottom, but the other day I noticed that you can actually see a little white on one side. I must admist that I am actually a little worried about this! Graham is known for "gumming" me when he nurses and with teeth this could be somewhat painful for me. Hopefully Graham will be a "respectful" nurser and not bite mommy too much!

Now, on to update on the rest of us Carraways.....

Marshall is adding new vocabulary every day. I love to hear the little conversations Patrick and Marshall have! They seem to understand each other quite well. Marshall is continuing to our little mischievious one! He will do things he knows he should not and look around to make sure we are watching and then flash his big smile when he gets caught. We are working on a way to discourage this. I have also decided, after much conversing with friends, that middle children have a way of always being heard!! Marshall has the biggest set of lungs I have ever heard on a little boy!!!! He knows how to use them very well, I might add. He will let out a horrid, shrill scream as soon as something does not go his way! Maybe some day he will put his nice set of lungs to a great use :)

Patrick is turning in to a little boy!!! He has really matured the last couple of months. He is a huge fan of structure (hmmm....he couldn't have gotten that from mommy now, could he?!) and will let you know if something is out of the norm. He does this at school, as well. Maybe a Montesori education will be in his future, as they seem to really focus on routines and independence! Patrick is also quick to point out when Marshall or Graham do something they should not. Patrick told we when Marshall broke the clock that's on the sofa table, the lamp that's in their bedroom, the remote control, etc... You get the picture!! We continue to work a little on potty training with Patrick, but he's not quite ready. He's got the basics, but I don't think he finds it important right now! There's too much else to do, I guess.

Robert just returned from his first trip to Las Vegas last night. He was there for a training class for work. He stayed in a great hotel, gambled a little (Not too much, though. We all know how Robert is about money!) and got to take in the sites and scenery of Sin City! Maybe some day we will take a weekend trip out there together. He is still in a little bit of a down time at work, so we have enjoyed having him home in the evenings and on the weekends. Hopefully as the weather gets nicer we will all be able to get outside together. Lately, we have resorted to grocery shopping as a way to get us all out of the house together. Sam's Club is a favorite! :)

Now, for mommy.....Well, I am still doing my 1/2 marathon training group. The Flying Pig is in less that 2 months! I've also run in two races the past few weeks and I've been pleased with my times. My next goal, after the Pig, will probably be to work on getting faster! I am not doing to0 well with my laundry goals (or the pacie fairy, for that matter!) But, I'm giving it a good try! Maybe if I had multiple washers and dryers in my basement, kind of like a laundromat.....

So, that's quick update on the Carraway clan! I've got several other posts I've been working on that I need to finish up and post. Hopefully I'll get some of them up soon. We've got some cute pics to share! :)
