Snow Day

Patrick's excited to be out in the snow!!

Momma's big boys in the snow :) Grammy was nice and snug asleep inside.

Marshy was not too sure of the snow at first, that's why there's a papi. Yes, I know, the Papi Fairy still needs to come visit!

Today, Cincinnati got 4-6 inches of snow and tonight we are getting 0.5 inches of ice and an additional 2-4 inches of snow!!! This is a pretty good amount for us. And, needless to day, I was stuck in the house with the three boys ALL DAY LONG!!!! The gym playroom was closed and I left my car parked at the top of the driveway last night, so I couldn't get the car down our hill even if I actually had somewhere to go! But, the good news is that we survived. I took the boys out to play in the snow this morning during Graham's AM nap. They had a blast!! They both cried when I made them come in. Their teeth were chattering and their hands and cheeks were bright red, but they still wanted to play outside in the snow! Tomorrow will probably be another long day, as I doubt we will be able to leave the house. I really do not know how people stay home all day long. I envy those that can successfully do it! I am about to loose my mind! But, this too shall pass.

On a different note- we have reached some new milestones in the Carraway house! Patrick has put peepee in the potty twice now, and poopoo just once (and it was barely enough to even qualify!) He has a little Disney Pixar Cars seat that he puts on the big potty and he climbs up there and tries to do his "business." He gets really frustrated when it does not go as he thinks it should. He usually ends up slapping his leg, pulling his weewee and saying, "It not working, Momma. It not working!" But, I'm sure he will get the hang of it soon enough. And, I can hardly wait until the day when I have only two in diapers instead of three!!!!!!!

Graham is now 5 months old, but thinks he is about 18 months old! He can sit up on his own and has decided that baby food is not for him!!! He still does not take bottles, but he is doing remarkably well with table food. He has eaten ravioli, fettuccine, grilled cheese, Ritz crackers and graham crackers!! His favorites, however, have been ice cream (can you blame him?!) and yogurt. And, yes, I do realize I have broken all the baby food "rules." Oh well. After all the problems we had with Patrick, the MD's we saw, the PT/OT, tests, etc...I have learned that you just do what works. And, this is working for us. Graham absolutely LOVES to eat with his brothers and enjoys feeding himself whatever they are eating.

Well, it is that time. Off to attempt to catch a few Z's before Graham begins his every other hour nursing marathon. I wish you all many more hours of peaceful sleep than I seem to be getting these days! :)

Inauguration

So, I have to admit that I have been GLUED to the television today watching Obama become our president. I am typically not a very political person, but something about this election just drew me in! I am hopeful that Obama will bring some of the change that or country needs, but I am more in awe at where we are as a society. I feel that we elected a man that we felt would be best to run our country and he just to happens to be African American. This is pretty cool!!! Especially considering where we have come from. I love the fact that over the next four years my children will become aware that our country has a president and that Barack H. Obama will be the first president they know. So, here's to a new president and to hope!!!

First Foods

Graham is officially eating baby food! I am no longer his sole source of nutrition :) He LOVES anything he has had, so far. Well, maybe not peas, but he'll eat them if that's all he's given! He now eats lunch and dinner with his big brothers. I still haven't started doing breakfast with Graham just because our mornings are crazy enough. I have definitely remembered how much I dislike the baby food stage. It's messy, they grab the spoon, it's gross smelling, and did I mention MESSY!! I've given up on putting a bib on Graham just because he starts to lick the spilled food off the bib! He also get very, very upset if you don't keep it coming fast enough. It's hilarious! Maybe he has a future in food eating contests?! But anyway, I am doing my time in the baby food stage and anxiously awaiting the time when Graham is able to eat table food with his brothers!! Of course, then I'll be posting about how messy and crazy it is to feed three little boys at our dinner table! :)

"Wordful" Wednesdays

Well, our house is full of words these days!!! Graham has "discovered his voice." He just babbles and babbles and then makes these guteral squeal sounds! He does it until it actaully makes him cough!! It's hysterical. And, Marshall and Patrick are talking up a storm, too. Patrick's new favorite phrase is, "Get goin' Momma, get goin'." He says this every time we are in the car stopped at a stoplight, stuck in traffic or not moving fast enough to suit him! Let me just say, it's wonderful when your 2 year old tells you how to drive from the third row. He also tells me which way to turn. If I actaully listened to him, there it no telling where we'd end up!

As far as talking goes, Marshall just takes Patrick's cues! He tries to repeat everything Patrick says. From "no" and "mine" to "go bye-bye." It's amazing to hear how his language is developing due to having an older brother. The down side of this?? Well, he screams "no" whenever I try to change his diaper and tells me to "go away" and "stop" if I do anything he does not like!! But, he also says very useful things, too. He tells us when he's hungry, thirsty, wants a lovey or pacie (yea, that thing is still around!)

Well, those guteral squeals I was talking about have turned into crying! Graham is ready to be out of the exersaucer. Hopefully he'll nurse well and take a nice nap for Mommy :)

Baptism

Graham's Baptism

Momma and her baby boy

Mommy, Daddy and Grammy

While we were home for the holidays we had Graham's baptism!! He was such a wonderful baby during the service (desptie spitting up down my arm in the middle!) Graham wore the same gown that Robert, Robert's cousins and his big brothers wore. Thanks, Jane, for making such a beautiful gown 40 years ago and letting all of us use it!! After church we all had a great lunch and then napped to try to recover from such a busy week.

Christmas

All 5 of Us Christmas Eve

The Carraway's had a fun, busy Christmas!! We went to Memphis, Dyersburg, Memphis, Brownsville, and then back to Dyersburg. The boys were such troopers and enjoyed our "big trip!" Mommy and Dadday survived, too. Thanks goodness for DVD players in cars!!! The boys were able to see their MiMi, Uncle Goob (aka Christian), Aunt Becca, Nonny, GanGan, Uncle Brad, Aunt Julie, cousins Hannah and Chloe and a bunch of other extended family, too! However, when Patrick told his teachers about his "big trip" over the holidays, it was Uncle Goob and Aunt Becca he talked about. Patrick has always been quite fond of Becca, so we tell Christian to watch out! :)

Patrick became very interested in opening presents this year, and everywhere we went he said, "I want to open presents, Momma!" However, Santa was not a big hit. But, I'd probably be afraid of a big, hairy man dressed in a crazy red suit if I were two, as well! Marshall is amazed by it all and just followed Patrick's cue. Graham was a sweet littly baby for his first Christmas, despite the fact he was waking up every hour to hour and a half at night our entire trip. Needless to say, Mommy was extremely tired by the time we headed back to Cincy! We rolled back into town just in time to ring in the New Year with some neighbors.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and we are so blessed to be able to celebrate with our family and friends! We were even able to catch up with Ashley and Jason and the Renzi clan!!

Messes

Wednesday night Patrick finished eating dinner before Marshall and wanted to get down. So, he got down first and went to get his toy vacuum. He came over to Marshall's chair and began to vacuum underneath it while Marshall finished eating dinner. Patrick said the entire time, "Oh, Marshy. Oh, Marshy made a mess! Clean up!" I died laughing while Patrick just kept cleaning up the kitchen. Can you guess what I say every night when the boys are done eating dinner?! What's even better is that both boys beg to clean. They run over the basement door and want me to open it so they can go get the broom and vacuum. However, I have a funny feeling that this urge to clean will disappear as they become teenagers. I'm sure when they are 15 I will not be able to get them to pick up after themsevles for anything!
